Career Advice

Posted on 08. Dec, 2009 by Jeremy Reis in Career

Steer your own path and expect to change courses at least 3 times in life.  Very few people today join a company just out of college and stay until retirement.  Plan for major career changes at least 3 times over your professional lifetime.

Take advantage of every opportunity you have or can create for yourself.  If there is a course offered, take it.  Take classes on your own outside your job-required continuing education.  The more well-rounded person offers more to employers.

Develop a positive life attitude.  Given a choice between two equally educated and experienced potential employees, an employer will usually choose the optimist over the whiner.
