Start a “Sharing of the Mind” Lunch

I had the fortunate experience of being part of a new group within a large firm to tackle the Web. This organization had an elementary web presence and the team was formed to take it to a new level. Part of the problem in this company was the lack of understanding about the web – even among some of the team created to launch this new media.

We started a monthly “Sharing of the Mind” lunch where members of the team taught a specific topic over a brown bag lunch. This allowed members of the team to demonstrate their expertise and simultaneously cross-train members of the group. We occasionally had outside visitors – including the CEO & CIO – share in the experience and learn from members of the team.

Take an opportunity to hold a seminar in your team and let your coworkers teach you.
