As a new teacher, you may feel excited and overwhelmed at what path you have ahead of you. Here’s a few tips to help you prepare for your first class:

Review the curriculum you will be teaching and ask for any workbooks and resource books your school has available.

Call your school and find out when you can get into the school to setup your classroom.

Write a letter to hand out to your students and parents explaining your background and expectations for the year.

Read instructional magazines about back to school issues.

Make friends with the front office – it is the hub of the school and will love to help a friendly face.

Nothing beats a well written plan for the school year.

Good luck in your first assignment as a teacher!
