Force a Mac Application to Quit

You may (infrequently) have a Mac application which starts to misbehave. In case a Mac app freezes and you need to kill it, you can force the application to quit by pressing COMMAND+OPTION+ESC, selecting the application, and choosing “Force Quit.” Mac OS should kill the application and you can continue on your merry way.
